Chopta camping hill station (village) is located in the Uttarakhand state, at an elevation of 2681 m above the sea level. Chopta village is an unspoiled beautiful natural destination that offers wonderful views of the majestic Himalayas peaks like – Nanda Devi, Chaukhamba and Trishul. It is surrounded by dense forests of pine, deodar and rhododendron, a part of Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary and close to the Himalayas in the Chamoli district.

Chopta is the base campsite for all the trekkers that come near the Chopta hills. The wide green fields or alpine grasslands called “Bugyal”, invites you to put down your tents (if you have your own). For laying your own tent, you must have a permit from the forest department of Chopta. Camping in Chopta offers the best comfort atmosphere around the jungle camps. There are all-weather proof Swiss Deluxe Tents with an attached toilet/bathroom and running water. Best solar system generated light, neat and clean comfortable beds. Camps also offer the best meal items from Uttarakhand and Himalaya’s traditional cuisine. Wonderful view of himalayas Peak from the camp.

Best Time for Chopta Camping Summer Camping – March to July: Best season for finding flora and fauna in Chopta is from March to July. One can find 40+ species in Chopta during these months. Chopta, Deoriatal to Chandrashila is the best trek for Summer Camping.

Day 1 – Drive Haridwar-Chopta 7-8 h (225 km)

Today we head to chopta along with holy river Ganga, Alaknanda & Mandakini and reach chopta. then start our trek near hotel to the beautiful wooded emerald chopta which is believed to be the Indra Sarovar referred to in The surrounding of the chopta is picturesque as the mighty peaks of Chaukhamba Kedarnath, and kedarnath dome are reflected in the crystal clear himalayas of the hotel. Spend quality time near the hotel.

Day 2 : Chopta to Chandrashila via Tungnath (9 Km Trek)

Early morning, we start our trek to Tungnath temple, has definitely a certain mystical/religious aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and views from there. After spending some time, we will head for the Chandrashila summit that provides a wonderful 360 degree view of Himalayas. Then come back to Chopta night stay.

Day 3 – Chopta - Haridwar (165kms/7 Hrs)

Early morning, visit Rudraprayag. visit Rishikesh Local Sight Seeing (Ram Jhulla, Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Parmarth Niketan, Shivananda and Gita Kutir). After Lunch, drive to Haridwar
