Chopta is very popular among trekkers & tourists, mainly because of the number of options it provides for exploring. Chopta is also called "Mini Switzerland" and is getting prominent visitors year after year. The Tungnath temple is located at an altitude of about 3680 meters above sea level, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is the highest Shiva Shrine among the Panch Kedar, 4 km s uphill from Chopta. The temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the second in the order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic. And it is also believed that the present temple is built by the Pandavas to please the Lord Shiva.

Situated at altitude of over 4090 meters above sea level, Chandrashila offers a panoramic 360 degree view of the some of the very majestic Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi, Bandarpunch, Chaukhamba and Kedar Peak. Chandrashila is a steep 1 km trek from Tungnath temple. Chandrashila and Tungnath are covered with snow during the winters. According to one of the popular legend, Chandrashila is the place where Lord Rama meditated after defeating Ravana. Another legend says that moon-god “Chandra” spent time here in penance. Chandrashila literally means “Moon Rock”.

Chopta is based in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand. Chopta is also considered as ‘Mini Switzerland’ of India. This kind of unique name is granted to Chopta due to its undulating green meadows and splendid Himalyan peaks. In winters, this region covers with layers of snow providing a majestic view to the onlookers. Chopta region allows trekkers to spend a night under the shelter of stars in camps. There is even availability of lodges for trekkers. After spending a night in Chopta, trek proceeds to Tungnath Temple. This temple is the highest Shiva Shrine in the world situated at an altitude of 3680 meters The presence of rich flora and fauna in the region complements the Himalayan Giants. The trekkers can have glimpse of Bandarpoonch, Kedar, Chaukhamba and many more peaks during their trek to Chandrashilla peak. This peak is approximately 4000 meters above the sea level. The onlookers can have 180 degree view of the snow-capped peaks and valleys around the peak Chopta region is approachable from Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar. How to Reach

Chpta is well connected by Air/Train and road travel is recommended. The nearest railway station to chopta is Haridwar. and there are a number of trains that connect to Haridwar from all over the country. For air travel, the closest airport is the Jolly Grant Airport (at Dehradun) and is well connected to Delhi and other parts of the country by Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, etc.

Day 01: Drive Haridwar-Chopta 7-8 h (225 km)

Today we head to chopta along with holy river Ganga, Alaknanda & Mandakini and reach chopta. then start our trek near hotel to the beautiful wooded emerald chopta which is believed to be the Indra Sarovar referred to in The surrounding of the chopta is picturesque as the mighty peaks of Chaukhamba Kedarnath, and kedarnath dome are reflected in the crystal clear himalayas of the hotel. Spend quality time near the hotel.

Day 2 :- Chopta to Chandrashila via Tungnath (9 Km Trek)

Early morning, we start our trek to Tungnath temple, has definitely a certain mystical/religious aspect which is quite based on the spectacular surrounding and views from there. After spending some time, we will head for the Chandrashila summit that provides a wonderful 360 degree view of Himalayas. Then come back to Chopta night stay.

Day 3 : Chopta - Haridwar (165kms/7 Hrs)

Early morning, visit Rudraprayag. visit Rishikesh Local Sight Seeing (Ram Jhulla, Laxman Jhulla, Triveni Ghat, Parmarth Niketan, Shivananda and Gita Kutir). After Lunch, drive to Haridwar

Note: – Many trekkers commit the same mistake of carrying unnecessary items on a trek which only makes the backpack heavy. It is important to know the right items to carry.
It differs from season to season if you are trekking in summers then carry less layers of warm clothing and if you are trekking in winters carry enough layers to protect yourself against chilly cold.

    Terms And Conditions

    Payments: For all the services contracted, certain advance payment should be made to hold the booking, on confirmed basis & the balance amount can be paid either before your departure from your country or upon arrival in INDIA but definitely before the commencement of the services. Management personnels hold the right to decide upon the amount to be paid as advance payment, based on the nature of the service & the time left for the commencement of the service.

    Apart from above in some cases like Special Train Journeys, hotels or resorts bookings during the peak season (X-Mas, New Year), full payment is required to be sent in advance.

    Mode of Payment: Overseas advance payment can be made through Wire Transfer to our bank.

    Cancellation Policy: In the event of cancellation of tour / travel services due to any avoidable / unavoidable reason/s we must be notified of the same in writing. Cancellation charges will be effective from the date we receive advice in writing, and cancellation charges would be as follows:

    • 45 days prior to arrival: 15% of the Tour / service cost
    • 15 days prior to arrival: 50% of the Tour / service cost
    • 07 days prior to arrival: 75% of the Tour / service cost
    • 48 hours prior to arrival OR No Show: No Refund

    Note: Written cancellation will accept on all working days, except Sunday, Any cancellation sent on Sunday's will be considered on next working day (Monday).

    For the X-mas and new year period from 20 Dec to 05 Jan the payment is non-refundable.

    In case you cancel the trip after commencement, refund would be restricted to a limited amount only which too would depend on the amount that we would be able to recover from the hoteliers/ contractors we patronize. For unused hotel accommodation, chartered transportation & missed meals etc. we do not bear any responsibility to refund.

    Trekking, Tour and adventure actives in Himalayan region carry an inherent risk to life and goods. The natural calamities may cause injury and loss of life, which is beyond any control. Tour Uttarakhand does its best to minimize all types of risks, discomfort and hazard to the best of their ability, yet there are chances of accidents, mishaps and deficiency in service.




    Advisory:

    • Any delay from the customer’s side will lead to cancellation of trek/ tour/ adventure activities.
    • Trekking Tour Adventure maybe cancelled due to some unavoidable circumstances i.e- weather condition, govt. notification, land sliding or any other natural calamity.
    • Trekking in Uttrakhand reserves the right to discontinue, modify any trek, tour & adventure activities without assigning any reasons or without any prior intimation whatsoever.
    • Anybody found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs medically or physically unfit (any serious ailment, weak heart conditions, epilepsy, asthma, expecting mothers etc.) unfit for any reasons in the wisdom of the trek leader/guide/instructor will not be allowed for trekking /tour/ adventure activities. Request for a refund or a discount in such situation will not be entertained. Decision of the trek lead/guide/management in this regard would be final.
    • Total decided package cost will not be affected if there is any reduction in the number of persons
    • Minimum required 50% of amount to get confirmed the trek/tour/adventure activities.
